Fashionably Pregnant in Summer

Ok so this is based mainly on my sense of style and experience from my own pregnancy so some of these tips I'm giving you may or may not be your cup of tea but I thought I would share anyway as there isn't much out there on the web about staying fashionable or it's for an older generation that just doesn't suit the 20's to early 30's range.

If your reading this now your probably at your wits end with browsing online maternity stores that are way over priced and are just down right boring with their styles. Sure they are comfortable and most likely very good quality but do you really think your going to be wearing it much after your pregnancy? I don't think so. So let's get into my tips, tricks and my recommended must haves for your summer pregnancy wardrobe.

1. Like I said above you don't need to be spending all this money on maternity clothes especially in today's world where big flowy tops and materials are in and there are plenty of none maternity stores that sell a variety of clothes that will fit you for a really cheap price. In Australia check out Temt, Alley, Valley Girl, Supre, Chica Booti... And for the US checkout Forever 21 and stores like it. You'll be surprised what you'll find. The key is this... Stretchy, baggy, flowy, longer, 1 or 2 sizes up to allow your belly to grow. However this being said there has been one maternity clothing purchase that has made my life so much easier and comfortable and this is a pair of fitted black stretchy maternity jeans from Just Jeans (the same ones in the picture). I hardly wear them anymore as its so hot now that I'm always in dresses but when you do need to wear pants coz it's colder or it's for work I do highly recommend purchasing 1 pair of maternity jeans. I think these retailed for about $90AUS.

2. Combining fitted stretchy dresses that allow you to grow with loose flowing material. My favourite example of this is a basic long singlet style dress with a sleeveless see through nylon type button up top like the ones you see in the picture. This style really shows off your bump but teamed up with the flowy unbuttoned top over the top softeners the look and makes it less riskAe. Also I find that the longer the flowy top the better when your wearing a shorter dress.

3. Combining textures. This is a really easy way of breaking up a look so you don't end up looking like 1 big round pregnant lady. Think thick lace worn with soft thin material, bold patterns worn with simple colours. This could involve a casual hippy style maxi dress with a unbuttoned neutral blazer.

4. For work - A belly belt/band, now luckily I didn't have to buy one of these but this may be very useful and a big money saver for the women planning on working well into their pregnancy or if your pregnant in the winter time. You've probably heard of these before but if not I'll explain them to you now. What it basically is is an extender for your pants so you can go on as long as possible wearing your non maternity pants. A very ingenious invention and something I would definitely recommend however be warned that eventually your just going to get too big and it's not going to be able to do the trick anymore.

5. Maxi dresses are a pregnant woman's best friend because they are just so simple to wear, comfortable and really easy to dress up with accessories. Make sure you have a few of these in your wardrobe ready to go.

6. Maternity Bra's- now I let myself get pulled into the "you must get fitted for a maternity bra at 4 months". What a load of poo poo guys you don't need to be fitted for an actual maternity bra till your milk comes in and that is when your baby comes (unless your boobs balloon like crazy which mine didn't). I believe this as all pregnancies are different so the girl fitting you couldn't possibly know that the bra she's telling you you have to get will even fit you when the time comes. When I got fitted the cups were way too big to wear before the bub arrives and my rib cage expanded so much that the band was just too tight. If your bra is still fitting you the same way it did before pregnancy then stick to that size for now and when you hit that 4 month mark put all your underwired bras and restrictive pushups away and go for nice comfy bras and crop top bras. You'll need to wear this type of bra from now on so not to block any milk ducts that are starting to produce the small amounts of the babies first milk.

7. Accessories - These can be another best friend of yours but if your not careful they can also be your worst nightmare. Here's my simple rule... if your wearing something that's quite bold already then go for more dainty pieces like the leaf necklace in the picture or the stud earrings. If your in something more casual and neutral dress it up with a bold chunky piece of jewelry like the thick beaded necklace or the big cocktail ring in the picture. Necklaces and rings would have to be the easiest things to accessorize your outfit but when your pregnant it can be harder to pull off big earrings and bracelets. I find that pregnant women wearing big earrings just seem to look more round and heavier unless they wear their hair up, their outfit has a more V shaped necklace and they keep their outfit and other jewelry more neutral. With bracelets it's important not to go too over board. Wear 1 or 2 bracelets instead of a full arms worth as this cuts off the arms and makes them look short and stubby. Also aim for more loose dainty jewelry like the Tiffany & Co. bracelet in the photo rather then thick bracelets or cuffs as again these cut off the arms. Now as for any married or engaged women who have found that they can no longer wear their engagement rings because of pregnancy swelling in the hands. I recommend buying a cheap faux engagement ring in a larger size with a bit of room just incase you swell even more later on. And lastly don't forget about hats! Even if your really good with keeping your hair intact there will come a time when you just can't be bothered and a cute summer cowgirl hat will hide your laziness.

8. Been invited to a wedding or formal event while your pregnant? Scared that your not going to be able to find anything to wear? Well don't panic and follow these tips to find that something special. The first and most crucial tip I have to offer on dressing for an event is to not purchase the outfit till 1 to 2 weeks before the event. I made this mistake by buying a dress 2 months before a wedding and I bought it a little bigger thinking I would fit perfectly in it... Wrong! It ended up being too small and I had to get it altered, not fun guys. The second tip is to go for long dresses so you can wear comfortable flat shoes, you don't want to be uncomfortable in heels or risk falling over. And thirdly choose a dress that is more of an emperor/Grecian style meaning that the band is high off the belly and just under the breast. This looks amazing on pregnant women as it really shows off the belly in a feminine way and allows non restriction on your belly so you'll be a lot more comfortable. Checkout the pictures of the long formal dresses in the picture.

9. Shoes - This has to be by far the hardest thing to look for when your pregnant and I highly discourage purchasing any unless you desperately need them (not want, NEED). I say this as my own feet and the feet of many other pregnant women tend to get a bit of swelling that actually increases your shoe size. Don't worry it does go down for most women after pregnancy but this is why I don't recommend shoe shopping as you would most likely have to go to an expensive specialty shoe store that carry a range of shoes (ugly old lady shoes mostly) that are of a wider sizing. And again like I said with most maternity clothes "what's the point in spending so much if your not going to be wearing it for long?" so just stick to flat open shoes and I would only recommend purchasing a wider step shoe if its for work. Think of it this way instead of buying shoes you can use the money on pedi's instead.

Chances are she doesn't have the Dry'n Shape and because of her extensive knowledge she knows already how important taking care of her brushes really is. As to what it is, well I'm not going to go into too much detail as its a topic that would put most heterosexual males to sleep. What it is is a shaper to put our brushes in after we have cleaned them so to keep them from fluffing out and it goes upside down so the moisture drains out of the brush rather then into the brush... These brushes are amazing at getting into the harder to reach areas of the face like around the nose and under the eyes and because they are really dense/thick they are perfect for application and buffing. They can also be used for the eyes although I think they are better suited for her base/foundation. It retails for $46US.

This girl loves playing up her eye whether it be a smokey dark look like you see above, bright colours or anything that makes her eyes stand out. If this sounds like your lady then here's my recommendations for you.

The Synthetic Essentials Kit will have your fur protester jumping for joy as these brushes are completely synthetic with absolutely no animal product used. Big Announcement!

So I'm sure that everyone is wondering where I have been for the past 5 or 6 months well there have been some major changes in my life which before now were only common knowledge to my family and friends. Well its about time I should spill because I'm sure you guys will be able to notice a few hints in my future video's but firstly I will share with you all what else has contributed to my absence (I think I have mentioned a few of this stuff in my blog before)...

Around the time of my last video months ago and till now there have been a whole bunch of things happening including family illness, quitting my job, becoming sick, working 7 days, moving house, and then when I actually started to have some spare time my mic on my ipad2 broke so I couldn't film aaahhh it just all seemed never ending... lol so these are the contributing aspects that have kept me away for so long and now onto my big announcement.......................

My husband and I are very happy to announce to all my followers and subscribers that we are expecting our first child!!!! =D & we are so over the moon about it!!!!

I'm currently around 6 months pregnant with a due date in February next year! As for the babies sex my hubby and I decided not to find out until the bubba is born =) so as you can imagine I'm dying with anticipation.

I might actually do a video as well to announce this or I might just do a video and ask that if your really interested just read this blog post. I'm sure there will be nosy bodies asking inappropriate or personal questions lol thats youtube for ya hahaha.

And there we have it, that was my big announcement. I only hope that once bubba comes that I'll still have time for you guys but before then you can count on more videos even though I am hating my fat pregnant face, I'll probably get more comments from ppl thinking I'm getting a divorce from my hubby coz I can't wear my rings right now (fingers and feet swell a little in pregnancy), and I'll be getting random viewers who don't know me commenting on my babies cott as we'll be setting one up next to my bed soon.

Beauty Style Lashes Mini Haul

.....This is my first post from the iphone Blogger app so plz forgive me if its not positioned right.....

Now I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this company to you guys before especially their lashes as I'm so amazed with their quality and price ($4.99AUD or it could also be $4.95AUD forgot sorry). Recently I stopped into my local PriceLine and decided to pick some more lashes up as Beauty Styles can only be bought at PriceLine stores in Australia (sorry international followers) and I find that every time I head into PriceLine to purchase some for the weekend they seem to be out of stock aaahhh so it's better to be prepared. Anyways this time I bought another set of individuals called 60's Girl Lashes which is now my fav kind of lashes to wear as I get so many compliments, they are very comfortable and come off easily in the shower. The other pair are a full length strip style lash called Diamond Lashes and I got these as I really liked the separation of the lashes for a more prominent look. Both lashes come with there own glue too although I prefer to use my own Duo Lash Glue coz I know I won't have to worry about the lashes coming off from my body heat or from skin oils. If your interested in where to buy Duo Lash glue in Australia it can be purchased from MAC, Inglot and I think Napoleon stocks it as well. I also highly recommend Revlon's lash glue if you can't find Duo. I couldn't recommend these enough although I must mention that if your new to false lashes then I wouldn't recommend the individuals until you've had plenty of practice with the full length lashes because the individuals can be very tricky unless you know what your doing. MoDiva Professional 25mm Curling Iron

Hey everyone, this is my review on the MoDiva Professional 25mm Curling Iron that I received a few weeks back. I've been trying it out first so I could do a proper review for you guys and now here it is...

The MoDiva Professional 25mm Curling Iron is a clip-less curling iron that comes with a glove to protect you hand when curling your hair. This is the first time I have used a clip-less curler and I have to admit I'm impressed. I remember seeing loads of hair tutorials on youtube using clip-less wands and so tried doing the technique on my clip curling iron, however I didn't get the same results so I made the assumption that the a clip-less one wouldn't do much for my hair. Boy oh boy how wrong I was until this little beauty came to my door. I think it all comes down to the heat and how it is distributed; using my clip wand didn't work as the clip gets in the way and doesn't heat up as much as the wand. Where as the clip-less one maintains the same heat and I think its actually hotter.

I find that the curls that I make with this wand are more of a spiral wave that is more natural then the curls I get from curling my hair with my clip wand. I'm absolutely loving these loose curls as it gives me more texture and volume yet it holds all day. Love love love!

It was the last one in store so its really lucky that I decided to check while I was walking past. I'm not really into skulls (besides mexican decorated skulls for day of the dead which I'm obsessed with) but I thought this would do really well in giving a flowing girly look an edge... & it only retails for $9.95.

Skinstitut Products

Hi everyone I've got some awesome news, recently I was in contact with Skinstitut (since I love their Gentle Cleanser so much) and they kindly sent me some amazing products to review for you guys. Prior to receiving the products I discussed with Skinstitut that I have combination dry skin, I'm conscious about preventing wrinkles (some have started to form on my forehead *cry*) and I have acne scars and brown pigmentation marks on my cheekbones that only just developed a year ago (another *cry*).

So they sent me the Moisture Defence for Normal Skin, the Even Blend Serum and the Vitamin C 100% along with a little brochure of their product range.

Now I've only had these products for about a week so I'll definitely have to do a follow up in a few more weeks, but I couldn't resist to share this with you all now. Here's my thoughts so far.

Moisture Defence for Normal Skin-

I really like this moisturiser as its more of a gel in consistency so it glides on beautifully, Skinstitut products are chirally correct which means its more active in its ingredients so you don't have to use as much, it has a lovely scent which to me kinda smells like kiwi fruit with a pop of zest but my partner thinks it smells like jasmine flowers. But the really awesome thing about this moisturiser is that it has a synthetic snake venom called SYN(R)-AKE which has excellent smoothing and anti-wrinkle properties. Here's a copy from their brochure about it that I find really interesting...

"SYN(R)-AKE is a new anti-wrinkle active compound based on a synthetic tripeptide that mimics the effect of a peptide that is found in the venom of the Temple Viper. This compound imitates the parts of the venom that block the neuromuscular contractions that cause facial muscle tension, thus relaxing the skins surface".

Cool right? So its kinda like Botox minus the pain and stiff face side effects LMAO. This is so far my favourite product out of the 3.

Even Blend Serum -

Now it really is a little too early so see any major differences yet as this product is used to lighten dark spots but I've taken a picture of my pigmentation marks prior to using this product so I can take another picture in a few weeks time to compare the 2. Now onto a little bit about this product... its a gel like serum with a red/pink tinge to it, its multitasking as it clarifies uneven skin tone while providing long lasting exfoliation (although I'm unsure how it exfoliates as its not abrasive at all), is chirally correct, and most importantly it reduces the appearance of uneven skin tone caused by sun exposure, skin inflammation and hormone imbalances. You can either use a small amount all over the skin or just apply it to the effected areas. Another thing is that when its blended in it feels a little sticky almost but once settled that goes away and my skin feels smooth =D. I can't wait to update you guys on this one in a few weeks.

Vitamin C 100% -

Wow I never even knew such skincare existed so I was a little dumb struck when I saw it and had to do a little research on this stuff before I used it. First this product is basically a white power like form of 100% Vitamin C which is known as a very effective ingredient within skin care and the packaging is exactly like loose powder makeup packaging that I find adorable. Now I know you guys must be really curious as to what this does and how do you apply it so let me shed some light on these things for you. This product is used to reduce the appearance of fine lines, enhance skin firmness and improve skin colour and tone, and as for how to apply it its recommended that you mix a little with their Even Blend Serum although you can also mix it with their other correctors or moisturiser. I've been mixing about half a pea size amount with a small pump of the Even Blend Serum but as for results its too early to tell just yet. Its also chirally correct like all of Skinstitut products.

Hey readers, this is my first ever entry for my monthly empties. I was inspired to do this after I saw a few blogs doing it. If you don't know what it is it's basically a monthly post of all the beauty products I have run out of from the previous month and a little review on each product. Its also a great way to encourage me to get through my products.

Lets get started...

TRESemme Healthy Volume Conditioner-

A cheapie but a goodie. Tresemme is by far one of my favourite drugstore haircare companies. I still love to use salon products but to me tresemme has been better then a lot of the ones I have tried from the salon. I didn't notice any improvement in my hairs volume but it did make my hair nice and soft and fresh. Would I repurchase? Yes.

Face of Australia Bronzer-

Wow I really love this stuff and I'm pretty sure I did a review on it here on my blog so scroll down a bit and you'll find it. I liked this because it didn't make me go orange, was nice and even and it was only $8 or $10. The only thing I don't like is the top nozzle as the cap can get in the way and cause build up. Would I repurchase? Yes.

Swisspers 80 Makeup Pads-

My go to for removing my makeup. I like them because they are soft and don't leave any pieces of fibre on my eyes. Would I repurchase? Yes.

Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream (sample size)-

I quite liked this as the exfoliating beads were really fine. You do have to be careful though as it can be harsh if applying too aggressively. Would I purchase after trying this sample? No, even though I liked it I would prefer to buy cheaper exfoliating products.

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild (sample size)-

Very standard, nothing special to me. I think it would be perfect for people with sensitive skin though. Would I purchase after trying this sample? No, too expensive for something so basic.

[A'kin] Pure Radiance Rosehip Oil-

I used this for weeks and never saw any sign of that beautiful radiance so many people said it gave them. That being said even though it didn't make any improvement to my skin it didn't make it any worse either. I should have known though as oil products never do anything for me. I ended up using the rest as a moisturiser on and arms and legs. Would I repurchase? No, I might as well get canola oil and use that LOL.

Clinique Rinse-off Foaming Cleanser (sample size)-

Wow I loooovvvveeedd this stuff. Sometimes I get lazy removing my makeup so I just jump in the shower and this stuff was so good at removing my makeup with the smallest amount. The formulation was absolutely beautiful too, the cream was like velvet but foams up like nothing else. Would I purchase after trying this sample? Yep, but not until I can afford it.

Clinique Superdefense SPF 25 Age Defence Moisturizer (sample size)-

I like this because it has SPF and I only needed a little bit so it lasted ages but I did notice that I had to be careful with it around my eyes as it did sting them a little. I also wasn't a fan of the pot style packaging, I know this is just a sample but I really do hate pot containers for skincare as every time you open it it is exposed to the light and air so the beneficial ingredients start to decrease in their efficiency a lot quicker then pump style products. Would I purchase after trying this sample? Probably not.

Bathox Bath Foam & Shower Gel Dry Skin-

This was a really cheap shower gel I picked up ages ago. It contains milk and honey and is soap free. I really liked the smell and it did a good job of foaming nicely. A good find for an inexpensive shower gel. Would I repurchase? Yeah, its a good staple to fall back on if I run out of my luxury shower gels and are to strap-for-cash.

My Makeup Evolution

Hey, I thought it would be fun to post a whole heap of pictures of my journey/evolution with makeup. Enjoy...

As a girl I was a real tom boy climbing trees, ripping holes in my jumpers and making mud pies with my brother but besides this I was fascinated with my mums makeup. I remember fondly playing dress up geisha by putting baby powder on my face, adding my mums red lipstick and blush and when I would come out to show my Mum she would laugh her head off. Besides dress ups I was also allowed to wear lipstick for special pictures and school dances but up until I was 12 I wasn't allowed to wear makeup. In the picture above I would probably say I'm about 4 which was in 1991 but I can't be sure.

Again another picture of me before a family portrait. I would say I'm about 6 years old here which was in 1993. Don't you just love my fashion sense??? hahaha nah my mum chose the complete outfit but believe it or not what I would normally wear as a child is 10 times worse hahaha. Anyways as you can see I've got my Mum's red lipstick on again, I think the reason why I'm not scared to wear red lipstick (besides my asymmetrically, I explain this later in this post) is because I was so use to wearing it for special occasions.

AAAHHHH hate this! Age 16 in 2003. Thin brows and harsh black liner, a mistake made by a lot of teens and young adults. The liner makes my eyes look so small. I was pretty much clueless with makeup and hair till I discovered youtube. My mum and older sister only knew the very basics in makeup (e.g an eyeshadow goes on the eyes, a lipstick goes on the lips... hahaha).

I think I was about 19 or 20 here 2006/2007 and it is about the time I first started watching youtube beauty videos. Anyways this makeup is shocking to me you can really tell that I'm not wearing blush or bronzer, my eyebrows aren't even filled in and the eyeshadow is way too far up. I remember I use to do this with an eyeshadow sponge tip and I thought I was so awesome at it... NOT!

Here I'm starting to add a little bronzer and blush but as I'm still quite new to it I only wore very little but compared to other flash photo's I had before bronzer and blush this is a massive improvement. Also checkout my eyebrows SHOCKING!!! I'm so glad they grew back from this. I absolutely love the hair colour I had at the time though as it made my hair suuuuppppeeerrr shiny. I think I was 21 which was 2008.

Going natural, a long with makeup I also decided to get to know skincare better as good skin makes such a difference. 2008.

well well thats much better! Filling in my brows... what a difference it makes right? And as you can see it still looks natural. I know a lot of girls are scared of filling them in coz we see girls walking around with obvious lined brows but this proves that not everyone ends up looking like that. I've also started using highlighters to give my skin a nice glow. 2009.

Getting into tutorials on youtube =D. This pic is from my Twilight Victoria character makeup interpretation. Most of my looks are natural but I really wanted to master smokey eyes and after practice and using the right tools I finally mastered it. I first started doing natural brown smokey eyes then eventually started darkening them up and even adding colour. Also at about this time I was really getting into false lashes and thanks to numerous eye lash application tutorials on youtube I got the hang of it and if it wasn't for youtube I probably would never have even thought of trying them. 2009.

Loving my highlighter for a really dewy summer look. Highlighters are really important to me as I'm not a big fan of completely matte skin. 2009.

Smoking out your black liners really makes a difference. Harsh lines are not flattering ladies. Love doing this look although I think I've got a bit of sun burn on my nose hahaha. 2009.

Getting creative for Christmas. I just love watching halloween and theme inspired makeup tutorials. End of 2009.

One of my favourite looks as its really quick and isn't overly done. Again loving lashes. This was actually from my megan fox inspired tutorial. 2010.

OOOOooo my extensions how I miss them, I'm blonde now so I can't wear them anymore unless I dye them but that would ruin them. I really wanna get some closest to my hair colour now but I'm always going lighter every time I go back to the hair dressers, so I guess I gotta wait.

As you guys see I'm all about enhancing my eyes, I like lips too but I trend to prefer to keep them more natural as the asymmetrical shape of my lips really shows when I wear darker colour lipsticks. Also another interesting thing that you guys may have noticed is that my whole face is asymmetrical; One eyebrow and eye is higher then the other and one nostril is smaller then the other too. But I don't think it's a bad thing, most people have some form of asymmetrically with their face or body. One of my favourite actresses actually has a asymmetrical eyebrow and that is Vivien Leigh aka Scarlett from Gone With The Wind. 2010.

Again getting into creative looks and new techniques in achieving different looks. 2010.

Going Gaga for Lady Gaga. I absolutely love Gaga's creativity and she is a huge inspiration to me. I'm one of her little monsters =D. 2010.

Loveeeee dressing up and going to theme parties!!!! This was a saloon theme night for my friends birthday. You can't really see from here but I've got huge lashes on. But their nothing compared to the size of the lashes I have in the pic below hahaha... 2011.

This was my entry into elle and blairs spring inspired contest. Again I'm going for a more natural look with a few pastel colours on the eyes. I'm so proud of my hair here, along with makeup my skills in hair has also improved thanks to youtube. 2011.

Not the best quality picture sorry, but I thought I would include it as this is me with individual false lashes on. It took me awhile to try individual lashes on again as the first attempt was so shocking I just decided to give up and just stick to strip lashes. I've always been able to apply individual lashes on other people and am actually known as the eyelash queen at my old work so I thought to myself "if I'm so good at applying individuals on other people then why can't I do it on myself?" so I tried again and presto. I guess it all came down to experience and practice. Again this is proof that anyone can apply lashes, it all just takes practice. 2011.

Too Faced Lash Injection Review

Only about 2 months back I finally got my hands on the highly raved about Too Faced Lash Injection Mascara and I can't believe it has taken me soooo long to get it. And now that I have used this mascara in plenty of scenarios its time for me to give you guys my honest review.

The packaging is actually really basic compared to other mascaras I have had.

The mascara wand is quite large in comparison to my finger, but I imagined this guys to be monstrous from all the reviews that I heard. I hardly notice the size and find there is no issues with its thickness when I'm applying it on.

Things I like about this mascara is that it thickens my lashes which a lot of other mascaras don't, it covers nicely, sets quick, and doesn't smudge or flake. Another really cool thing about it is that it literally smells like orange juice. I remember reading somewhere that the reason why too faced did this is so that once its time to throw it away that sweet orange smell will start to get stinky to let us know. These are all good things in my books but my favourite thing about this mascara is how easy it comes off.

When removing my eye makeup I use an oil based eye makeup remover (or baby oil) which does wonders however I find that with some mascaras a little still remains and I end up with a little bit of panda eyes. However when I remove too faced lash injection mascara with my normal oil based eye makeup remover it comes off onto the cotton pad like little pieces of fibre and that means no panda eyes =D. So on days when I know I'm going to not wanna spend so much time removing my makeup afterwards (all nighters) this is my go to mascara.

However as much as I love this mascara there is a down fall and that is its price (in Australia). Its expensive and I understand that quality costs more but mascaras perish so quickly and I honestly don't want to pay so much so often. I'm yet to find a drugstore mascara that I love but I'll continue my search. If you guys have a drugstore go to mascara that you love please let me know! However I must mention that I will not try maybeline, covergirl, rimmel, l'oreal and a few others as they test on animals and in order to abolish animal testing we need to stop the demand for these companies.

Skinstitut Gentle Cleanser Review

I always get compliments on my clear skin but I must assure you all that my skin hasn't always been like this. My skin has gone through a lot and it has taken some perfecting in products to get to the skin I have today. So today I would like to share with you all my favourite cleanser.

This review is on Skinstitut's Gentle Cleanser

I first came across this awhile back when I attended a special night event at a Beauty Salon and on that one night they were offering 50% off their Skinstitut range among other things. So I thought I would support the salon and purchase something. Little did I know how amazing this cleanser would be for my skin.

Before I started using this cleanser my skin was starting to break out and the cleanser I was using at the time just wasn't penetrating my skin to do its work. The ladies at the salon told me that Skinstitut products are chirally correct which basically means that the ingredients are more active at doing their job. So naturally this caught my attention. Here is a copy and paste from the Skinstitut website to explain things clearer about what chirally correct is.

From the very first use I noticed that the cleanser foamed up nicely and removed every last trace of my makeup, it didn't dry out my skin either which most cleansers do and the best thing is that after about a week I was pleasantly surprised to see that my skin was clearing up and pimples became almost non existent from then on.

This product is all thumbs up for me and I just really wanted to share this with everyone. If there was any down side to this brand it would be the packaging just because its so simple but at the end of the day if they put this stuff in a take away container I would still love it hahaha.

I found this gorgeous hat at Sportsgirl which comes in this beige colour or a kaki colour. I absolutely fell in love with it and its going to work so well with a dress I'm planning on wearing to a wedding on easter sunday. For some reason this hat kinda reminds me of an english foxy hunting party which I in no way encourage but I am loving that style right now. SKINCARE

-How many times do you wash your face daily?
I try to do it twice but since working I never get up early enough so I currently only cleanse once. I also use an eye makeup remover and makeup wipes too.

-What skin type do you have? (dry,oily,combo)
I'm combination dry.

-What is your current facial wash?
Skinstitute and I love it.

-Do you exfoliate?
Yes but not as often.

-What brand do you use?
St Ives.

-What moisturizer do you use?
Clinic's Dramatically Different Lotion and I also use their Super Defence (I think thats what its called) coz it has SPF unlike the Dramatically Different.

-Do you have freckles?
Yes but they are more like beauty spots coz they are separated all over my body.

-Do you use eye cream?
No.

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
Yes when I was in my late teens I broke out quite bad. Before then I still had acne but it was no where near how bad it got. I rarely get pimples anymore though.

-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
Yes. Proactiv really helped me in my late teens. I no longer use it anymore though as I don't have acne anymore and proactiv is an acne treatment not a cleanser! It makes me angry how people complain that it dries out their skin, thats what acne treatment do!!! DEEERRRR. Just use a good moisturiser and you shouldn't have a problem with dryness anymore.

MAKE-UP
-What foundation do you use?
ATM I'm using Nude by Nature but I also have Bare Minerals which I LOVE

-How about concealer?
I'm currently using Inglots AMC Cream Concealer in 62 (I think?) for underneath my eyes and MAC's Studio Finish Concealer in NW20.

-Do you know your undertone colour?
I'm a neutral pink.

-What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I love them.

-Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
Yes but I judge it on how the product feels too.

-What brand of mascara do you use?
Ones I like include Clinics Deep Impact, MAC Plush Lash, Inglot Perfect Length and Define, Smashbox...

-Sephora or MAC?
We don't have Sephora here so I would love to choose Sephora to see what they have.

-Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
Nope.

-What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
Brushes of course. Things like tweezers and stuff are handy when applying lashes too.

-Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
Yes I seriously can't wear any eyeshadow without a base.

-What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
I'm not really into MAC eyeshadows that much right now. I guess satin taupe even though I haven't worn it in months.

Both.

Not often, only if I'm in a rush but its more like a tap rather then a poke.

-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
I love the colour pay off from them but I always go back to pressed shadows.

I love so many different colours, its too hard to choose.

Yes and I did. I now have my Diploma in Makeup Artistry.

I'm quite clumsy when it comes to eyeliner and if I'm in a rush I sometimes smudge my mascara.

-Name a makeup crime that you hate?
Foundation without Blush or Bronzer. Its unnatural to just have foundation on as its only 1 tone and so it gives you the appearance that your dead.

Yes, quite often I go down to my local store without makeup on. I also think its important to let our skin breathe.

Its a way of expressing myself and its also kind of like my vice. Since I don't smoke, drink (I do when I'm going out though, which isn't often), do drugs, or drink coffee I figured its ok to be a makeup junkie.

Le Tan, Spray Tan Review

Hello peeps and welcome back to another episode of jodie's neglected blog hahaha Aight lets skip the jibajaba and get this mini review/ pro's and con's on the road for Le Tan's Le Tan in Le Can which is an Australian drugstore spray tanner so I'm sorry if your in another country and can't get your hands on this. I'll most likely do a video review on this too so I'm just gonna skip the extra long paragraph that most bloggers do on reviews and just break it down in a very easy to read pro's and con's table. Ain't I nice?

Pro's

easy to apply
isn't orangy
comes in a lighter shade and darker shade
even though it still smells like self tanner it isn't as over baring
very affordable and easily available in australia
safe for body and face
didn't get flaky on my skin

Con's

I used the lighter shade (since I have fairer skin) and I pretty much had to use the whole can for 1 use to get the shade I wanted. I'll be trying the darker shade next time to compare though.
you still have to wait something like 8 hours (sorry I don't remember) before showering. But thats to be expected for a drug store spray tanner.
didn't last as long as I would have hoped
when applying you have to make sure that you have a tissue or something to remove the residue that builds up on the spray otherwise you'll get big blotches on your tan

Hey guys look who's back! Been a little longer then usual I know but I'm really pumped to get back into it as soon as I fix the issues I'm having with my camera's memory card =(. Long story short it says that it is full but it isn't, it should be easily fixed by the hubby though coz this has actually happened to me before. No huge deal but still its really annoying coz I was planning on filming a few vids that day I filmed the vid below. Anyways I do miss you guys especially right now in my life because I've been feeling really down and constantly worried about stupid little things that are doing my head in grrr. So I'm seeing that there might be a change in employment early next year depending on where I am mentally at this time. I'm sitting here at the computer with a pen in my hand and a small note pad writing down video ideas. So far I've only managed to write down 4 ideas so I thought it was about time I did another post asking my loyal youtube friends what you guys think I should do? At the moment I regret to say that I'm not taking any tutorial requests as I have to do makeup practically everyday at work and I kinda need a break from teaching. So from now on tutorials will only come when I am feeling inspired to do a certain look (this doesn't include product reviews, I'm still up for sharing my views and honest opinion for you guys).

Anyways back to my list, so I've managed to dolt down 4 ideas and here they are so you guys don't choose the same things I've thought of...

1. Would you rather tag (makeup)

2. Starting my own book club thats more like reviews and stuff of things I've read or am reading, also a way of interacting with my youtube buddies and getting book recommendations from them for my next read... this isn't beauty related sorry lol but I really do love reading and I know it can be hard trying to decided what novel to read next.

3. Starting Tip of the Month again except I'll change the naming to "Handy Makeup Tips" or something like that for obvious reasons =D hehe.

4. and a What I'm loving right now, I haven't done one of these or the monthly one for awhile as my tastes don't change much in 1 month plus making these videos kinda makes my purse suffer as I feel like I have to get new stuff so you guys don't get bored with the products I've already shown you 10 times before =p.

oh and I just thought of one at this moment... a follow me around video, but I'm a little unsure as I'm a boring full time worker and I don't want people to see where I work coz you guys are potential STALKERS!!!! HAHAHA just jokes, but nah there are a few of you guys out there. I guess I'll have to do it on one of my days off when I'm actually going out somewhere, use might even get a "what the hell are you doing you weird youtube freak" stare from my hubby =o. We shall see. This will be very strange to me as my youtube life has always be a very private thing to me, I have never filmed any video with having someone in the house. But for now I'll just have to focus on getting my but to bunnings and getting a good light for videos, if this fails then I'll have to go to a special lighting store. Night night yall xx

I Heart Hats

Well hello blogging world, I almost forgot I had you so I thought I would post something and this something is about hats! I am currently obsessed with hats! Especially big thick warm ones (it is currently winter in OZ) and I'm thinking that I might do a video on the hats I do have (which isn't many) for any other hat enthusiasts out there like me hehe. I recently got this gorgeous russian sorta style hat that kinda reminds me of a pilots hat too and I'm absolutely in love with it (its fake fur btw). I have taken a picture of it but you will have to forgive my dodgy pj jumper I am wearing. Its simply too cold in my house right now so warmth outlooks glamour LOL. I also got another cute beret from Forever New and I got a picture of this too.

When I actually first tried this on another customer saw it on me and ended up trying on one too. I'm guessing its coz I looked awesome with it on haha I flatter myself too much.

WOW my eyes are huge is this picture, looks like I'm high on drugs but really I'm high on my happiness for hats LMAO!

In other news Jessie girl has gotten a hat too although I'm sure she isn't as happy with it as I am with mine.

She recently had a trip the the vet because she wouldn't stop biting her paw, the silly girl. So now she has been put into the cone of shame hahahaha. God bless this little cat, she really is the strangest cat I have ever come across and I wouldn't change anything about her. Except of course her biting habits.

Aaah I'm a slacker I know, I tried blogging here like 3 weeks ago but when I tried posting it didn't go through =( and I spent quite a while making that post. Oh well you win some you loose some.

OMG so many responses for a Taylor Swift look. I know I promised you guys and that promise still stands but I never promised an actual date haha chillax hommies. To tell you all the truth I'm quite surprised with the amount accumulated for this look especially since taylor is blonde so on me this look will look more 50's coz I have darker hair. And I'm still not an ace at winged eyeliner so every time I do it it turns out different =P. But I guess the pressure is now on to ace this look, I will try my best. I'll be working everyday pretty much till next week (hence my MIA from youtube) so I'll put doing the tutorial on top of my to do list then.

But for now you will all have to do with an update/fashion haul video till then.

Hey guys, I'm so sorry that this blogs been a little neglected lately. As most of you know I have just started a new job so I've been super busy settling into that. If any of you were wondering I'm really enjoying it =D.

Anyways because I no longer have much spare time it can get a bit harder to film so I figured I would start filming a few videos every time I filmed (as I have been doing sometimes). However my problem is that when it comes time to film I can usually only think of a few videos to do. This is where you guys come in to help me, I need requests big time to help me get out of this video block (like writers block haha =P). I don't need any more tutorial/how-to makeup looks as I have a big book where I write down look requests and any tutorial ideas I might come up with. Also I can only ever film one tutorial per filming session as I don't want to be applying so much makeup to my face in one day. I'm also thinking that I may bring back my poll so you guys can vote which tutorial you would like to see the most next. My next tutorial is a Taylor Swift inspired makeup look as it is my most requested video (even more then a Bella Swan New Moon tutorial which is never going to happen, sorry guys).

I have my vanity (yay 'jumping up and down') however I still need to get a light up makeup mirror as the lighting isn't good for filming. I've been looking into getting the frame less conair one, has anyone ever used it? Hey guys, this post is going to be a bit different and a tad more personal as its kind of like a rant about a girl I know from my private life who cheekily posted a b*tchy status update on facebook after I updated my profile picture. This has nothing to do with my jodienas profile guys this is my private personal account that I can't share as

1. I don't want to share my full name

2. Only a small few people from my life know about my youtube account and for now I prefer it that way.

Anyways here is the status update she posted

"Hatessss girls who Photoshop aaaaalllll theirr pictures. It's false advertising girliesss..get it together, there's nooo suntan, fixup, and erase icons in real life hunniii!!"

and here is the profile picture I put up only a few minutes before she posted the status above.

Now guys I have to admit that I do photoshop (iphoto to be exact, nothing as good as photoshop) here and there for the odd blemish I might get and any dark circles under my eyes. But in this picture I have not blurred any blemishes, scars, dark circles, shine, pores, lines, or added any suntan as she says (I don't even know how to do that). I haven't done anything to this picture except added more exposure (as it was too dark) and blurred the edges of the picture to give it a pretty effect (the blur doesn't touch my face). So in a nut shell without sounding like I'm bragging this is my skin (with makeup obviously) and this is with my professional camera too so it shows a lot more of my imperfections then my other camera. I should probably take this as a complement to my mad make-up skills hehe but it still annoys me that she would have the nerve to post that. Looking at the picture it does look like it has been airbrushed but I assure you it hasn't except for the exposure and blurred edges around the picture which I already mentioned, but if you look very closely you'll see that I have an eyebrow hair that is out of place and a spot on my forehead. Now if I was photoshopping wouldn't you think that I would get rid of those things? This is proof that with good skin-care, practice of application and using the right products and tools you can have gorgeous skin. Now here is what we both replied to each other in order.

"haha I love photoshop I use it all the time but on the new profile picture I just put up I only lightened it up and blurred around the edges of the photo. No blemish's or lines to blur =) yay to good skincare. But your wrong there is an erase icon in real life hun, its called makeup hahaha"

As you can see I'm very nice even though I'm fuming inside. I did give her the benefit of the doubt at this point though as she didn't directly accuse me. Until her cheeky subtle reply.

Now I've been around the block a few times guys to know how a b*tch works and this one is one of the worst you could come across as she's also a cowardly suck up. First of all if she meant to mean "girls that do it online to deceive people and you see them out and they are like a trainwreck" she would have said that in the first place. If you read her first status again you'll notice she's talking about all girls in general not just the trainwrecks as she puts it!!! And another thing even though she denied that I was one of "them" she kinda went back on it and said that I was (however in a nicer way) "you have a husband and do it in the name of art =D". I bolded the "do it" to emphasize my point that she admitted that I DO IT. Now I have to admit that I do have a few pictures that are edited to an extent that they do go from profile picture to art and I do do them (haha I said do do) to express my creative self, and the fact that she implied that I'm not "one" coz I have a husband doesn't prove anything in her case. What if I was single??? Would I be classed as one of these girls she speaks of? Ridiculous and vicious! We both know that she is talking about me and thats clear as day.

From there I replied back again in a friendly casual way. I kinda pleaded my innocence to her claims again and joined her in the joke/b*tch about these so called gross trainwrecks who photoshop their whole appearance as if I hadn't I'm sure she would have seen that I was offend & I know thats what she wants. To be quite honest the only girls I've seen who photoshop heavily are actually gorgeous girls in real life and not trainwrecks.

"LOL I know what you mean. Nothing wrong with getting rid of a blemish but to totally changing everything is ridiculous. In some of my pics I've only gotten rid of the odd blemishes and dark circles under my eyes coz I'm tired and those things aren't even permanent but other then that & the exposure of my pictures they are hardly touched, except the highly contrasted black and white or saturated pictures which are more artsy fartsy =D. But you know what if it makes them girls feel better then go for it, let them have their fun photoshopping their f-ugly pics hahahaha"

I personally don't give a hoo ha if people photoshop their pics. Its done everyday in magazines and advertisements so really if she has a problem with air brushing she needs to be complaining to these big businesses and the media first. But I bet this hasn't even crossed her mind because really she doesn't care about photoshopping either just like me but unlike me she is just a b*tchy jealous girl.

Your probably going to comment "Delete her from your friend list Jodie, she aint no friend of yours" but if I was to delete her profile she would catch onto this as being due to her post and again I don't want to give her the pleasure. I'll wait a few months and then delete her profile out of no where.

Thanks for listening to my rant guys, it feels good to let it out. I must sound like I have a quite a bit of drama in my life but I assure you that I have quite an easy going life. Most people like me besides from the odd few b*tches who are born like that hahaha I think everyone has come across of few of those in their lives =D. I'll try to blog soon on a lighter note.

Hey guys, I saw this on lollipop21's blog and also on other guru's youtube videos and thought I'd do my own. No video sorry as I tend to ramble on about things and so I would end up with a lot of footage to edit hahaha.

SKINCARE

-How many times do you wash your face daily?

This summer I've been slack and have only cleansed, toned and moisturized my face once a day. I have good skin so I can get away with this but if you have oily skin and/or blemish prone skin I recommend you cleanse, tone and moisturizer twice a day. Usually when it cools down I get back into cleansing twice daily (morning and night).

-What skin type do you have? (dry,oily,combo)
At the moment I have combination oily but I use to have combination dry skin. My skin type changed when I started my make-up course as my classmates always used liquid foundation on me and this caused breakouts and encouraged excessive sebum (oily skin). My skin doesn't react well to liquid foundation and even after finishing the course months ago my skin is still slowly getting back to combination dry. I can't wait to get my combination dry skin back!

-What is your current facial wash?
St Ives Apricot Scrub. People say to use it 3 times a week but I use it every day for months and its hasn't irritated my skin. Just a make sure your gentle on your skin.

-Do you exfoliate?
Yep everyday.

-What brand do you use?
St Ives for my face and Lush's Buffy for my body.

-What moisturizer do you use?
I tend to mix up my moisturizers. Cliniques Dramatically Different Lotion, Clinique Superdefense SPF25 and my MAC Fix+. On really hot days I only apply my Fix+.

-Do you have freckles?
I have random little ones here and there on my arms and legs but none on my face.

-Do you use eye cream?
I ran out so I'm not using anything right now but I do recommend that you should start using one in your 20's.

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
I get the odd pimple on my chin now and again but thats about it. When I was 17 my acne flared and got pretty bad, I started using proactiv and that cleared it all up. Also I find that I get less pimples now these days when I spray MAC's Fix+ on my face after my daily facial routine.

-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
Yes and it is a good product. There are a lot of people who complain that it dries out their skin and I totally agree but its not an issue if you have a good moisturizer. If you apply your moisturizer after proactiv and your skin still feels dry you need a better moisturizer! I used proactiv for years and because I use good moisturizers for my skin I never had any trouble with it (no dryness or flaking). What really annoys me is that people forget that this is formulated for people that suffer from really bad acne so its common sense that it will dry out your skin. However I wouldn't recommend this if you have naturally really dry skin or highly sensitive skin.

MAKE-UP

-What foundation do you use?
Sheer Cover in Medium.

-How about concealer?
Concealer is very important for me in getting a flawless completion. I use two concealers.

MAC Studio Finish in NW20 for any blemishes or redness

MAC Studio Sculpt in NW20 for dark circles under my eyes.

-Do you know your undertone color?
Warm.

-What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I love false lashes! However I usually only wear them for special occasions.

-Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
Yes I do. I usually keep my mascaras for 6 months though unless it shows signs of expiration (e.g flaking, smell changes, clumpy and dry...)

-What brand of mascara do you use?
My mascara is always changing as they don't last long. Right now I'm using one by Masquerade, its ok.

-Sephora or MAC?
MAC, although I dream of having a shopping spree in one of the American Sephora's. Even if Sephora came to Australia the prices will be super expensive (stupid Australian taxes and small population). I need to save for a US trip so I can get cheap make-up (yes it is cheap, compared to Australian prices).

-Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
No, but once I get my kit and business into gear I will.

-What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
Brushes of course!

-Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
Yes, it makes such a difference! I use mostly MAC Paint Pots as well as Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

-For the face?
Sometimes, although I don't really notice much of a difference between wearing a primer and not. I used MAC's Prep&Prime Line Filler.

-What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
I love Satin Taupe and its not because everyone else loves it. It really is an amazing eyeshadow. I also love MAC's matte2 eyeshadow formula.

-Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
Pencil and gel liner. I find that most liquid eye liners sting my eyes.

-How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Never.

-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
They are pretty and I think that everyone falls in love with them at first but I have to admit that I prefer pressed E/S simply because its more convenient and I prefer mattes which is hard to find in loose pigments. They do look nice in my make-up collection though.

-Do you use mineral makeup?
Yes and I love it although I don't just buy mineral make-up.

-What is your favorite lipstick?
Right now my fav lipstick is MAC's Viva Glam Gaga (Lady Gaga). L/S that I commonly reach for are NYX Circe, MAC Creme D Nude and Benefit's Good To Go.

-How about lipgloss?
I've always been really into lip glosses but through summer I've only used lip balms and lipsticks. I recently learnt that it is actually really bad to wear lip gloss in the day (out in the sun) as it kind of act as an attractant to the suns UV rays and increases the risk of first degree burns. I still love lip gloss though and will probably get back into it when the weather gets cooler (aussie sun is just way too harsh in summer). My fav's include MAC's Love Nectar and all of Benefits Lip Glosses.

-What is your favorite blush to use?
NARS Orgasm.

-Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
I only buy those generic palettes from there (coastal scents). I would never buy high end make-up from ebay because there is a chance that its fake.

-Do you like drugstore makeup?
Yes to some brands, but most test on animals e.g maybelline, cover girl, loreal, rimmel... TEST! I like Revlon and Physicians Formula the best as their products are mostly high quality and they don't test on animals.

-Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)
Australia doesn't have one.

-Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
Yes, in fact I actually did study in make-up and I now have my Diploma in Fashion Theatre and Media Make-up as well as my Certificate II in Make-up Services. I don't think its necessary to study make-up if you are on youtube, I mostly knew everything and could do anything already in the course (except for special effects) but it did build up my confidence a lot on doing someone else's make-up. Its very different from doing make-up on yourself. My lecturer was amazing too, she worked as a make-up artist on the first Lord Of The Rings movie and the first Narnia movie. I've grown a fondness for SPFX make-up and would love to get more involved in that.

-Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
If I'm in a real hurry I can be. I hate being rushed when I'm putting on my make-up (its my me time ok so just let me enjoy this).

-Name a makeup crime that you hate?
When people wear false lashes too long (the band not the lash length). Most of us need to cut them otherwise they'll end up making the eyes look droopy and thats not sexy.

-Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick,eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
I love colour but would usually only throw in a colour with dark smokey eyes rather then just wearing the bright colour on its own. For lips I'm a lot braver, I would totally wear a bright lipstick with neutral eyes on a night out. I'm loving bright pastel pinks and soft lilacs right now.

-Which celebrity always has great make up?

Anyways I saw these instant eyeshadow strips quite a few years ago but I never got drawn to it as I thought they would make me look like a drag queen (no offense to drag queens, you sexy ladies are hot!) and I prefer the creativity in applying my own make-up from scratch. If I hadn't come across this giveaway I don't think I would have ever tried these. So I just tried these out after receiving them today and was very surprised at the results and how easy it really is. All you do is hold the strip to your eye and apply pressure (these aren't sticky or anything) then drag them horizontally off you eyelid. This one is in Papparazzi Princess and is more natural then the others so it probably is easier to apply then the other more intense colours but I haven't tried them so I can't be sure, just guessing. Once you get it down on your lids you can easily blend them so you don't have to worry if you made them uneven. I'm not too sure how much these are but I do know that you get 6 pairs per pack. Even though this did impress me I'm not going to convert to these as I said before I like the creativity in creating my own make-up but I thought I would share my experience for anyone out there interested. A large amount of my viewers are under the age of 18 so a lot are just starting out and I think these would be good for them too. For me personally I think these would be great in my emergency make-up travel kit as they seriously only take seconds to apply so thats where they are going =).

And now here is a shocking picture of me with it on. The eye on your left is the strip applied directly and not blended so you can see what it looks like when first applied and the eye on your right was blended slightly so you can see how easily it moves. You can add mascara, liner and maybe even deepen the crease to make this even better. I didn't apply anything else so you lovely ppl can see the raw results (I'm not even wearing concealer or foundation, I must love you guys heaps haha). Don't forget to apply a base or eye primer to prevent creasing.

My Graduation

Hello guys, just thought I would post a little info and pictures from my graduation last night. If you don't know already I was studying for my Diploma in Fashion, Theatre and Media Make-up last year and we had our graduation last night. It was so nice to catch up with all my previous class mates. There were two awards for our class (about 18 of us) and I got one! For most improved and consistent in the class. Everyone also got two cute lips glosses and because I got an award I also got a big gift filled with make-up =). I was running late so I didn't end up curling my hair or applying false lashes, which I think I stated on my facebook and twitter. Here are two pics, and I may update at a later time when I get the professional shots.

The Body Shop Banana Conditioner

The Body Shop Banana Conditioner is an oldie from The Body Shop in the 80's which was eventually discontinued. TBS has recently launched a new collection for old favourites called 'The Originals Collection" which includes the famous Dewberry Lotion and Shower Gel as well as the Carrot Moisture Cream, many other favourites, and of course the Banana Shampoo and Conditioner. I did not end up getting the shampoo but I am thinking about purchasing it as I am quite happy with the results the conditioner gave me.

I have to admit the main reason that drew me into buying this conditioner is because it has Banana in it. I've never seen or heard of any banana hair-care before and was kinda expecting this to smell like a banana smoothy, however I was let down in this aspect as it smells more like that synthetic cheap banana lollie young children love so much. I've gotten use to it now though and the smell doesn't linger in your hair.

This conditioner was love at first purchase however I wasn't very impressed with it for the first time I used it. It did its job of conditioning but I didn't notice any added shine or softness so as you will probably imagine I was pretty disappointed. Many would probably just give up and go back to their other conditioner however I don't like to give up so easily and I'm glad I didn't. So I tried it again only this time I squeezed out more conditioner then I usually would and when I washed it out my hair was so lovely and soft. When I had let it dry my hair felt light, looked shiny, didn't tangle as easily as it usually did, and was so nice and soft. I was so stoked with these results as my hair generally doesn't take nicely to very many shampoo's and conditioners on both the drugstore and salon-hair-care markets. I really do love this product and will be stocking up on more before this collection is discontinued. And now its time to rephrase everything I just said in a con's and pro's list to make it easier for you guys and also to add a few other things that I haven't mentioned. If your interested in this conditioner then get in quick before its too late.

If you have kids who you want to encourage to shower more often then this shampoo and conditioner will definitely help. Just tell them its the banana that the monkeys use to get their coats soft and silky.

This is my bridal set from my wedding (first/main wedding as I had two weddings, lucky me). I went on cute overload when organizing this wedding and I ended up with a sort of Disney Princess theme lol. I even had disney songs through my wedding including Beauty & The Beast "Be Our Guest" for our reception entrance haha cute right? It seemed like the right thing to do since Disney has always been such a big part of my life. Oh and I bought this from our reception venue which I will not say. I'm sure you can find really cute ones online though.

I adore this little key chain sorta thing that came with a bag I own. Its leather and has the cutest detail. It was a gift for my husband so I don't know where you can get it.

A Barbie t-shirt I just had to get =D. I bought it from Target

This is the pen and stand that came with our guest book on our second wedding. My husband chose this one so again I don't know where you can get this.

These are bath bombs shaped like fortune cookies! The picture doesn't give it justice but its really cute and glittery in real life. These were a gift from my Brother and I don't know where he got them. Unfortunately I have had these for about 2 years now and haven't been able to use them as I only have a stand up shower and no tub =(.

Again here is another case of me being a sucker for cute packaging. Its a tampon tin that can be bought from most Australian supermarkets. I'm not too sure if it available internationally though. I like it because once I finish the contents I'll be able to reuse to little tin for storing small things like bobbi pins...

I'm so proud of myself everyone!!! If you have read my previous post you will be aware that I got some new clip-in extensions but was a bit confused on how to store them. I came across an image online of an extensions case/wrap from Sally's Beauty Supply and fell in love with it. However Australia doesn't have a Sally's Beauty Supply store and I'm also quite sure nothing around me sells anything like this extension wrap/case I saw. I was actually really surprised how limited the market is (not only in Australia) in extension storage. I guess most girls keep them in their original plastic storage but that wasn't good enough for me and a bit of a hassle in hot weather. So I decided to make my own, this turned out as a better idea anyway as I think the Sally's one was for 18" extensions where as my extensions are 22" so it would have gotten a bit squishy. Anyways I would love to talk more but I'm super tired. For now here are some pics of my baby's new home.

They attach with velcro grips. Don't worry the extensions are safely out of the way plus they don't stick to my extensions anyway. Please excuse any little bits of fabric here and there as its a messy job working with material.

This was handmade so it did take me quite a while. Oh and when I say handmade I really do mean handmade, no sewing machine was used as I don't have one. Yes I am that crazy to do hand stitch LOL and thats why I have a sore back and a minor head ache hahaha. I've always had something to hand stitch in my life so I'm actually quite good at it. Anyways I am thinking that I will ask my husband to buy me a sewing machine for my Bday too so I can make more and possibly sell them to any takers. Obviously I will make smaller ones too since not everyone has such long extensions as 22". Anyways please comment me back if you think this is a good idea?

Foxy Lock Extensions!!!

Hi, guys I'm so very much excited right now as I got my Foxy Locks Extensions in the mail today! Foxy Locks is a company/website owned by a beautiful girl named Imogen who also does beauty video's on youtube (that is how I found her and her website, links at the bottom of this post). I was really intrigued by how many good reviews people posted about her extensions so I became obsessed and just had to have them. For the extensions she sells 120 grams or 160 grams of 100% Remy human hair clip in extensions . She also sells other stuff including lady gaga hair bows, false lashes and beehives. I think she has a good colour range too. Now onto my thoughts about this item, oh and I almost forgot to tell you all that I got the Deluxe 20" 160 grams extensions in Chocolate Brown #4. Since these are my first extensions EVER! I can't compare them to anything else for you guys and also since I only got them today I can't really comment much on them yet but so far I'm a happy camper =D. My first thought was OMG these really are thick! I mean you see others hold them up to show you in reviews and your like alright looks decant but I'm telling you now its only until you get them in your hands that you realize just have amazingly thick these extensions are. I bunched my own hair into my hand as if to make a ponytail and then did the same to the extensions and no kidding it was thicker then my own hair hahaha. After realizing how much hair you really do get I started to get a lil worried that it might be really heavy on my head but once I got them on I hardly noticed them. It says on the website that you should get the 120 grams for thin hair and the 160 grams for thick but I got the 160 grams besides the fact that my hair is thin. I got the bigger one as I've always wanted more volume in my hair without teasing and I tell ya these extensions have given me that volume I dreamed about. However if you are someone with really thin hair (I have normal thin hair) then I wouldn't recommend the 160 grams for you, get the 120 grams instead otherwise it might be a lil too hard in concealing the extension clips. So anyways I put them all in my hair (10 piece set) and to be honest I don't even need all of them in and I think that if I had gotten the 120 grams instead I would have been just as happy, although I must say that I am in no means regretting purchasing the Deluxe instead. The single clip ins come in real handy in blending any uneven areas on the top surface, I just thought I would mention this as I think people so far who have done reviews on them kind of underrate these little ones. The only problem facing me now is what to do about storing them? If anyone has any good ideas please let me know. I'm going to leave them in the original package for now, but I really don't like leaving it in there as its stinking hot in WA right now and so it kinda makes the plastic stick to the cardboard and so when I pull them out friction occurs and the extensions get frizzy from static electricity lol. I'm thinking I might make a fabric wrap that can be hung. Anyways I haven't styled them what so even yet as I haven't gone anywhere near my heated tools or even my blow dryer lately as its just simply far too hot and the only places I have been going out to lately is the beach and that doesn't require much styling (I'm being sarcastic, I actually mean no styling what so ever LOL). Once I do though I will let you guys know and I will also try to film a review on these foxylicious foxy locks next week for you all and even if its still stinking hot I will style them for you guys! ;) Man I could go on and on about this product but I better wind it down now and save it for another day.

Here is my new lover, it was slightly darker then my own hair but once I put them in they blended so nicely with my own hair that I couldn't even notice.

This is normal for the first use because some hairs haven't been properly secured while being manufactured, its the same with make-up brushes, you'll always get a few come out on the first go.

Thickness, length and VOLUME people!!!! However I didn't style the hair what so ever so I kind of look like a mermaid as the extensions had a kink in it from being folded haha but it I still think it looks amazing like this anyway. You'll also have to excuse the top I'm wearing, its actually the skirt I was wearing at the time of taking these pictures only I pulled it up as a top because the singlet underneath was too dark and you guys wouldn't have been able to see the ends. Next trip the the hair dresses I'm going to ask their advice on if I should cut the longest (the ones further down my head) straight as I like that messy layers through the hair then a straight cut for the bottom layer. We shall soon see. Anyways keep an eye out for my video review on this product. On my last post, I got some really cool ideas from you all and I urge everyone to keep them coming. I also got a few Taylor Swift requests which isn't a new request for me. I really want to do a Taylor Swift look for you guys but her looks are mainly about the eyeliner. As most of you guys know or have noticed in my previous tutorials (after my old camera) I have not showed myself apply eyeliner. This is simply because I am sitting on my bed with no table or anything to put my stuff on and I only have a compact mirror that I have to hold. For me to apply eyeliner I need both hands especially for winged eyeliner & I can't change positions as I only have limited space in my house and even if I did it wouldn't change the way I do things (I'll still not be able to show eyeliner). I have found a cute little vanity that I asked my hubby to buy me for my Bday (late march) even though I still have no space to fit it LOL, I'll figure something out. But by then I should have a better station for filming video's and I'll be able to finally do my eyeliner in-front of you all. So until then I wont be doing any Taylor Swift looks or any other winged eyeliner looks. I'm really looking forward to doing it though. I've actually recreated one of her looks already which I'm happy with (obviously not in-front of the camera). I just thought I would post this to let you guys know that I do really want to do a Taylor Swift look and that I'm not ignoring you haha as it is quite a common request for me.

Oh also guys I have an interview on tuesday (nothing to do with make-up) so please wish me luck. I'll try to do a video when I get home after the interview, unless I felt like I did poorly in that case I'll be watching Twilight, New Moon, Pride and Prejudice, or one of my Disney movies to make me feel better hahahahaha.

DUO Adhesive Review

I hope everyone who celebrates Christmas had a fabulous time, I spent the day at my Mum's and we had a great time. Anyways now lets get started into this review...

I purchased the legendary DUO Adhesive (latex eyelash glue) thinking I would love this product compared to other lash glues I have used in the past, however after a few trials with this glue I have to say that I honestly don't see what others see in it. Don't get me wrong there are some good pro's with this product but to me the con's outweigh the rest. To simplify this review for you guys I have categorized a pro's and con's list.

DUO Adhesive

PRO'S (good) -

* It dries clear

* When stuck down it doesn't budge

* Its a decent size for the price you pay

CON'S (bad) -

* The opening is too wide and allows too much product to squeeze through, often the glue comes out too quickly and because the opening is so big it smears past the lash base and onto my lashes (false lashes) which ruins the lashes for extended use.

* Takes longer to wait for the glue to become tacky and even when it is it isn't tacky enough and so doesn't stick into place unless you hold it down on both ends (this makes application messy).

* When it is stuck down it really does stay however when the time comes to remove the lashes it is hard to remove. You have to really message cleansing cream or baby oil into it to remove it and this sometimes ruins the lashes for extended uses (lashes should last up to 8 times if taken care of except individual lashes of course which can only be used once). Also even after really applying baby oil (or something to remove it) I often lose a natural lash or two.

So overall my verdict is a big thumbs down however this product will get one more chance to regain its legendary status through individual lash application which I haven't tried with this glue yet. I have a feeling that this formulation might work well for individual lashes.

My lash adhesive of choice 'Lash Me Eyelash Adhesive Type 1' (below)

From now on I will be sticking to my Lash Me Eyelash Adhesive Type 1 (also latex). It doesn't dry as clear as the DUO but it does become a lot more tackier, it stays put and yet it's 10x easier to remove then the DUO. At 7g it is half the size as the DUO and was bought for around $8 from Price Attack so compared to the 14g DUO at around $17 from MAC it is a little more expensive if you do the maths (I hope you know your 2x tables hahaha) but only by a tiny bit.

Its the Holidays!

Hiya everyone!! Just a boring update post. I figured its been awhile. So I've been asked a few times now what I thought about the movie New Moon and I did give my opinion on my twitter account way back when but not everyone has twitter so I'll say what thought of it here too... I loved it!!!!! I thought it was really similar to the book, the only minus for this film is that I thought there wasn't enough wolf pack action. Other then that it was mint (mint is slang for good, I don't mean the lollies hehe). But then again I went into this movie saying to myself "Ok Jodie this is a movie and not the book so just take it how it is" so I wouldn't have high expectations. That being said I don't thinks its ever wise to go into a movie / any movie with high expectations, coz you'll always be disappointed by the time the credits start rolling.

Also I'm at the end on my course with only one day left and its my final exam. To those new or still don't know I'm studying make-up artistry and I love it. Although I'm glad its now coming to an end.

I'm sorry my video making has been slack its because I've been really busy finishing up my course and as Christmas/The Holidays are coming up I've been flat out doing stuff. I'm going to try and film a Christmas inspired make-up tutorial but only if I get the time =(. So if you don't see any new videos in the next month don't be worried coz I'll still be alive hopefully. While I'm on the subject of video's I keep getting requests to do a Bella inspired make-up for New Moon, and I'd just like to say I have no intention in doing any Bella tutorials from now on. Its simply because her make-up is hardly anything and as I've already done two I think thats more then enough, plus if I was to do a New Moon Bella look whats to say I won't get requests for an Eclipse and Breaking Dawn Bella's? If I ever did decided to do another Bella tutorial it would probably be based on Bella's... Spoiler Alert!!!!................................ wedding makeup as alice would have most likely done her make-up. Personally I think the make-up artists for Breaking Dawn will still keep her make-up minimal to almost non existent.

Just thought I would share some pics from today. Hubby and I went to a shooting range and tried out a revolver and a semi automatic. It was the first time I have shot a gun and we had a blast. I'm actually a good shot too but I kind of guessed I would be as I'm pretty good at archery (enjoyed bragging this to the husband haha). Hello, this post is an overview of my NYX Round L/S's including pics of me wearing the lippies. Before you scroll down I must note that I was only wearing the lipsticks and no gloss or lip liners in these photo's so you all can get a better understanding of the colours. I do however recommend that you should wear lip liner when wearing lipstick even for nude colours. Ok, just thought I'd drop in to update you guys. Sorry I've been MIA from the internet lately. I've been super busy and still am unfortunately, as I had an exam today (which I think I did pretty good on) and have a practical exam on Friday + I have to cram in some major hours to finish my portfolio which is also due this Friday. My husband has also been on a sort of holiday and I can't make video's with anyone around me. Hopefully I'll be back with some new videos soon. Thanks to everyone for their kind comments, I really appreciate it =).

Hey I'm still here I just haven't had any time to blog lately. I've got some more videos coming with two already filmed and some more on the way. I was really scared that I may have to go on an unwanted holiday from youtube as a whole lot of stressful bad things happened all at once. My camera wouldn't let me film, then my back up camera wouldn't let me film and we down graded our internet to one that wouldn't let me even watch youtube video's let alone upload (coz it would go over the limit) =(. But everything is starting to turn around now thankfully with getting a much better internet connection and managing to fix both cameras. I still can't guarantee that I'll be staying on a good internet connection but for now I'm quite satisfied enough to blog to you all who are worried about my recent twitter posts on how I may be away from youtube for a few months, that everything is back to normal =D.

Also I know a lot of you really want to see my Bella Prom Hair Tutorial and I'm really sorry that its taken so long. All of these technical things happened to happen just after I posted that previous post so I had no way of filming or uploading it. To top things off my curling iron stuffed up (I can't film it till I get a new one sorry). But I promise that if I stay on this same connection that I will be posting it =). NYX, Konad... Haul

Hey hey everyone I'm super excited today because I have a little haul to show and tell =). I'm extra excited because I finally managed to get my hands on some NYX lippies which is hard to get in WA. Anyways the shop is called Discount Butterfly Cosmetics and its shop number 30 at the Wanneroo Markets. The store owner however did tell me that they are moving their store to the Morley Markets sometime next year I think. Anyways here is what I got...

While I was there I also got a Konad plate (nail stamping), some false lashes for school and a black base suitable for eyes cheeks and lips. All in all a good haul hahahaha.

Car Accident & Bella Prom Hair

Hello everyone, after getting such nice comments and feedback from you guys about my attempted Bella Swan Prom hairstyle I've decided to film a tutorial on it =). I was really hoping on getting it done today but unfortunately I was in a car accident so I'm feeling a bit scared and shaken, so emotionally I'm not fit to do any video's today. Basically a lady turned out in-front of me after not checking her blind spot properly. No one is hurt thankfully and the damage is amazingly quite minimal (I was going 60 km per hour before I braked at about 10 meters from impact) but I dare say that it would have been a lot worse if I didn't react as soon as I did and if I was even 5 km's fasted I don't know what would have happened. This happened at an intersection which has been known to be dangerous so for anyone in Perth I'd like to remind you all to take care between Orrong Road and Pilbara Street in Welshpool. From a report back in 2008 a total of 64 crashes have occurred here with 25 casualties. I must have angels watching over me. I fully understand the importance of drop 5 save lives now.

Bella Prom Hair?

Hello everyone reading this =). Ever since posting my very first Bella Swan tutorial I have gotten numerous requests to do Bella's hair from the Prom (last scene in the Twilight movie). I think I attempted it way back but was unsuccessful. I would say that this is my number one most requested video so I decided to give it another go and see how it turns out. I've taken some pictures of the final outcome. Please tell me what you guys think and if its close enough to do a tutorial on it. I'm no hairdresser LOL. If I don't get any feedback in this posts comments or the side bar comments I wont be doing the tutorial. I hope you guys like them, it the best I can do.

China Glaze Review

Just a quick review on the China Glaze Nail Lacquer in Paint The Town Red and China Glaze No-Chip Top Coat.

So far I'm happy with these products although I must admit that I still prefer OPI simply because it has better staying power.

Here are 3 pictures of applying the products in layers

First Coat

Then topped off with China Glaze No-Chip Top Coat

China Glaze Paint the Town Red Pro's-

It dries quick

Not too thick

Is super shiny without a top coat

China Glaze Paint the Town Red Con's-

It starts chipping after 2 days

Its a bit translucent so two or more coats need to be applied

Its hard to get in Australia (I got them from Hair Mart which is a supply store that only sells to professionals and students in the beauty industry)

I give it a 6/10. I love the fact that it dries quick

China Glaze No-Chip Top Coat Pro's-

Makes nails shiny

Can be applied over the top of Konad stampings (I love it for this fact)

Is quick drying

Is easy to apply

China Glaze No-Chip Top Coat Con's-

It does prolong the nail from chipping a little but not enough I think

Over all I give this product an 8/10 simply because I can use it over stamped Konad nails without the stamp bleeding.

Good News, Bad News

I always think its best to get the bad news out of the way first, kind of like ripping the band-aid straight off or jumping into a freezing pool.

My camera is acting up and wont let me record. I thought it was my husband taking the hard disk out but its not the case. So I'll need to get that sorted out asap as I wont be doing anymore videos until its sorted. I tried using my iMAC built in camera like I use to but it turns out the mic isn't working (this is apparently a recurring thing to MAC computers LOL). I'll still be posting blog posts though =).

Good news I did manage to film my August favs on my photo camera but I only used it because I had promised to do it. I may be using this camera again to film, its blurry at first but it refocuses and the mic was covered by the tripod so I sound really weird. Other then that let me know if use like the quality of this camera better.

and lastly a little surprise that wasn't in the haul as I filmed it before I got this lippy. Its MAC Lipstick in Creme Cup and its a Cremesheen. Believe it or not this is my first MAC lipstick and I actually got this for free through the BACK2MAC program. I never got any of their lipsticks before because I wanted to take advantage of the BACK2MAC program. I really like this lippy its a nudish pastel pink and is really complimenting to my skintone. I think that if you had a darker skin tone then mine it may seem like a bolder pink. I'll try to remember to wear this lippy the next time I film a video so you guys can see it on me =).

Exciting news everyone! On the 27th of this month it will be officially 365 days since I started making beauty related videos on youtube. Unfortunately I wont be hosting any contests to mark the occasion, however I will be baking that cake above... Nah just joking haha I wish. I'm still amazed at how fast this year has come and gone. Below is my very first introduction into the world of youtube make-up. Thanks again for everyones support, if it wasn't for my subscribers I seriously wouldn't still be on youtube and I probably wouldn't be studying for my Diploma in Make-up Artistry either. <3

Cleaning Your Brushes Video

#Update!! I didn't see one more item in the parcel which turned out to be a gel black eyeliner. The exact same one that Coastal Scents has and calls 'True Black'. This was a freebie too =)#

YAY!!!!! I'm so excited because a parcel came today and it was full of these palettes. It took longer to get these as the seller (from ebay) forgot to declare what they were for Australian Quarantine so when it arrived they smashed it up to test for drugs =`(. So the seller sent them again however one of the palettes I ordered the first time was sold out so he sent me the 32 lip colour palette (the first one I ordered was the larger 66 lip palette) along with a free 10 camouflage concealer palette for the inconvenience. The other palettes are the 88 eyeshadow palette (the normal matte & shimmer one) and the 6 highlight, blush & contour palette. I just received them so I can't yet give a detailed review but from what I has swatched and tried so far I am a happy camper =). Oh & if you are wondering why they look so much like the coastal scents ones its because they are the same palettes that coastal scents purchase and rebrands. So for any aussies out there who are thinking about getting the coastal scents ones but you find the delivery too large go checkout ebay as the palettes come from China so the delivery is cheaper. Hi to all out there in blog land haha, I felt like a bit of a change from the usual "hey guys!". I've been spending like a crazy rich lady lately besides the fact that I'm not rich although I may be crazy LMAO. Ok lets get serious Jodie, stop kidding around... Now what was I saying? Oh yes I have been spending up lately but most of it has been for my course (make-up kit). Once my make-up kit is complete I'll film what I have in it for all the see. Anyways today I stopped into priceline to see if they had restocked any of the false lashes. I love these lashes as they are really good quality and were under $5 each! If you were wondering the brand is Beauty Style and is exclusive to Australia I believe and every time I walk past a priceline I always check to see if they have it because if they do I usually buy all the false lashes they have on shelf (for my course, come on I have to do 30 characters and lashes ain't cheap!). While I was there I got some Tigi products and the famous Klorane Dry Shampoo to try out, all of these items were about $10 each! Then using a $25 voucher that was about to expire I went to Live and got myself a belt and these grey tone pearl style earrings. Just felt like sharing. I hope everyone is having a good weekend =).

I'm very sorry that I've been away from my blog, I've been working day & night for the past week so I haven't had any spare time. Next week should start to slow down as I start my course. For those that doesn't know I am enrolled to study for my Diploma in Theatre, Media & Fashion Makeup Artistry. I'm a bit nervous but I'm sure I'll have a great time & meet heaps of fabulous people. It goes for about 6 months and its only 3 days a week so I'll still have time for you guys =). I am planning new blogs and videos so keep an eye out for them soon. New tutorial - Natural Summer Look

I'm always getting asked for a summer look along with more natural looks so I thought I'd do a natural summer look. I think this look is great on those really hot days or to wear at the beach or chill out next to the pool. Obviously you wont need to apply as much bronzer as I had to if your in summer as you'll most likely have a bit of a tan (not everyone though). I have also filmed a winter look as I am in winter right now and have gotten a few requests from my fellow Australian's so don't worry that will be up hopefully either tomorrow or Monday night. The winter look is more dramatic though, more suitable for a winter night out I think.

In other news I went to the every woman expo last Friday and got two mascaras from The Face Shop (for college I may add, so that means I haven't broken my project 10 pan) and a french tip Konad Set from Butterflies Discount Cosmetics (for everyone in Perth you can find this store at the Wanneroo Markets). I have just filmed a review on this set and a extra konad plate that I bought with it so if your interested in my honest opinion about this product then keep and eye open for the video. I didn't end up staying long at the expo because I was still too upset over MJ's death and was very eager to get to my sisters. Here is some picture of what I got from the expo and also a poster that I made to put up on my car for MJ. I made one for my sister too, she loved it. It really helped her grieve.
